Position Summary:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division, focusing on the cutting-edge development of our large-scale energy storage solutions. This role is crucial for the design, enhancement, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will utilize their systems engineering and battery technology expertise to spearhead the conceptualization, execution, and validation of innovative energy storage solutions tailored to meet the dynamic demands of our clients and the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive development of battery energy storage systems, encompassing requirements gathering, system architecture formulation, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Engage collaboratively with electrical, thermal, structural, mechanical, embedded, software, systems modeling, and controls engineers to establish system requirements, specifications, and design criteria.
  • Perform system-level evaluations, modeling, and simulations to analyze the performance, reliability, and safety of energy storage systems across various operational scenarios.
  • Devise and implement cutting-edge solutions to enhance system performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Lead system integration initiatives, including hardware and software amalgamation, interface definition, and system validation testing, to guarantee seamless functionality of energy storage systems.
  • Champion continuous improvement projects aimed at augmenting the capabilities, scalability, and reliability of battery energy storage systems, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, while collaborating with external partners and stakeholders to foster innovation and expedite project execution.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the battery energy storage domain, integrating relevant insights into project strategies.
  • Exhibit a strong team-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to all tasks, regardless of their scale.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering, particularly within the renewable energy or energy storage sectors, focusing on battery energy storage systems.
  • Deep technical knowledge of battery technologies, energy storage systems, and power electronics, with a solid grasp of system-level design principles.
  • Proficiency in system modeling and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD) and familiarity with industry standards for energy storage system design and integration.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage project timelines effectively.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle processes, including requirements management and design verification, is highly advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and leveraging technology for positive environmental impact.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
