Position Summary:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to enhance our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division. This role is critical in the design, development, and refinement of our large-scale energy storage solutions. The ideal candidate will apply their systems engineering expertise and knowledge of battery technologies to spearhead the creation, implementation, and assessment of innovative energy storage systems tailored to the dynamic needs of our clients and the broader energy market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive development of battery energy storage systems, from defining requirements and designing system architecture to integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, thermal, structural, mechanical, embedded, software, systems modeling, and controls engineers, to establish system requirements and specifications.
  • Perform system-level analysis, modeling, and simulation to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of energy storage systems across various operating conditions.
  • Devise and implement innovative strategies to enhance system performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead integration efforts, ensuring seamless hardware and software collaboration, interface definition, and thorough system validation testing.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement to boost the capabilities, scalability, and reliability of battery energy storage systems, leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering collaboration with external partners to promote innovation.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in battery energy storage, integrating insights into project execution.
  • Exhibit a strong team spirit and a proactive approach to all tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering, particularly within the renewable energy or energy storage sectors, with a focus on battery systems.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of battery technologies, energy storage systems, and power electronics, along with a solid grasp of system-level design principles.
  • Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD) and familiarity with relevant industry standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a proven track record of managing project timelines effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle processes, including requirements management and validation testing, is highly valued.
  • A genuine passion for renewable energy and sustainability, with a commitment to driving positive environmental change through technological innovation.
