Overview

The Microsoft 365 Solutions Engineer is tasked with enhancing the operational capabilities of the Michigan Farm Bureau through effective use of Office 365. This role is pivotal in ensuring that organizational and departmental communications are streamlined and that tools for daily operations are utilized to their fullest potential. The engineer will collaborate closely with business units and user support teams, addressing inquiries, providing training, and disseminating updates regarding applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee the Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of services, ensuring optimal configuration and performance for stability and security.
  • Implement document retention policies in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Monitor system functionality and resolve issues to maintain uninterrupted Office 365 operations.
  • Provide advanced support for Office 365-related challenges and incidents.
  • Facilitate training sessions and develop documentation to empower users in leveraging Office 365 tools, in partnership with support and training teams.
  • Establish and enforce security protocols to safeguard the Office 365 environment.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory mandates.
  • Conduct routine security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.
  • Plan and manage migrations to Office 365 from on-premises systems or alternative cloud platforms.
  • Integrate Office 365 with other enterprise applications as necessary.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing and supporting Microsoft Office 365 environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administrative and automation tasks.
  • Understanding of networking principles, security standards, and compliance issues relevant to Office 365.

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Security certification, such as Security+, is advantageous.
  • Experience with hybrid Office 365/on-premises setups is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Conditional Access, and other Azure services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and methodologies is desirable.
  • Experience with third-party Office 365 tools and add-ons is beneficial.
