Position Overview

The Maintenance Engineer I plays a crucial role in ensuring that the property is kept in optimal condition while minimizing disruptions for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct repairs on the hotel's air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on various equipment such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and record necessary equipment readings.
  • Test and maintain cooling towers.
  • Manage the replacement and programming of televisions as required.
  • Replace light switches, outlets, bulbs, and fixtures.
  • Handle furniture repairs and pump replacements.
  • Address plumbing issues, including clogged drains and pipe repairs.
  • Interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams effectively.
  • Trace and repair all types of water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas and repair sheetrock.
  • Repair various wall coverings and manage the hotel electronic lock system.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with relevant experience in a hotel or similar environment.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least one year of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Trade school or college coursework in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work long hours are sometimes necessary.
  • This position involves heavy work, requiring the exertion of over 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or over 50 pounds frequently, and/or over 20 pounds regularly.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with all levels of staff.
