Job Summary:

Guidehouse is seeking a seasoned Management Consulting Director to lead delivery teams on high-impact State & Local Government client engagements and drive business development activities in our State and Local Government Practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish approaches to gather information from clients regarding client structure, process, technology, and culture.
  • Facilitate meetings with client stakeholders to gather information.
  • Manage quality control for project deliverables and work product consistent with Guidehouse quality requirements.
  • Leverage Guidehouse frameworks and other leading practices to identify and implement program improvements for clients.
  • Effectively leverage project resources to accomplish tasks while providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Drive business development activities, including RFP responses, proposal development, and peak account planning.
Requirements:
  • Critical thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to client management and operational challenges.
  • Proven abilities as a team leader: supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust; seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; participating in various staff recruitment and retention activities; and coaching staff, including providing timely, meaningful written and verbal feedback.
  • Ability to 'quick start' account plan and target new business opportunities that support relevant practice development goals and objectives.
  • A Director in Guidehouse's State and Local Government practice must possess the following:
  1. 10+ years minimum experience in management consulting with at least 5 years in State & Local Government or related field within the State and Local Government sector.
  2. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Experience managing projects and junior & mid-level staff.
  7. Must be able to travel throughout the Honolulu and on occasion outside the Hawaii market.
  8. Must reside within 50 miles of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree - MPP or MPA (including MBA or equivalent).
  • Experience managing challenging projects and serving clients.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and public speaking with large groups.
  • Experience with one more of the following areas: business process redesign, HR consulting, business case development, IT strategy and implementation.
  • Management consulting skills such as project management, financial modeling, operational modeling, and stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with the Hawaii State government structures.

Note: If you proceed to interview, you will complete a case study that will be presented verbally by the interviewer. You will be asked to respond to a series of scenarios.

This is a Pipeline Requisition for future Award.

The annual salary range for this position is $190,900.00-$286,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
