As a Retail Sales Specialist at The Azek Company, you will play a crucial role in promoting and selling our innovative Azek and TimberTech products through retail home centers. Your primary focus will be on cultivating strong relationships with retail personnel, delivering product training, and providing essential sales support to the ProDesk. Additionally, you will engage contractors in our loyalty program, contributing to our overall sales strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with various retail stakeholders, including District Managers, Store Managers, and Pro Sales Representatives.
  • Set financial objectives and strategic initiatives to enhance the profitability of the retail channel within your designated territory.
  • Communicate effectively with Distributor Outside Sales representatives, TimberTech representatives, and retail staff to promote the TimberTech brand and boost sales, including instructing retail associates on how to process special orders.
  • Continuously expand the range of special orders available at retail locations.
  • Act as a point of contact for sales and service inquiries within your assigned territory.
  • Conduct in-store product demonstrations to showcase the value of our offerings.
  • Perform site visits with customers to ensure satisfaction, encourage renewals, request referrals, and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Assist in maintaining special-order displays in retail locations within your region.
  • Ensure that TimberTech displays and marketing materials are current and well-maintained.
  • Investigate warranty claims in the field and relay necessary information to the Warranty department.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the annual sales plan in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Drive sales efforts to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or a related field.
  • One to three years of experience in an outside sales role, preferably with retail home centers.
  • A strong desire to thrive in a dynamic environment that demands high energy and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively with both upper management and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 60% of the time.

Success Metrics:

Within the first 90 days:

  • Identify and visit your top 20 retail locations and 20 potential growth stores.
  • Complete product training across all three product lines.
  • Receive training on how to successfully achieve your Management by Objectives (MBOs).
  • Participate in ride-alongs with three Retail Representatives and one local Area Sales Manager.

By six months:

  • Enroll four contractors in our loyalty program.
  • Visit all Distributor branches and complete three ride-alongs with Distributor Representatives.
  • Conduct visits to stores in all major markets within your territory.

By one year:

  • Surpass sales incentive goals for both special order and stock sales.
  • Meet all MBO requirements.
  • Add one new stocking store to our network.
  • Exceed growth targets for Exteriors and Railing sales.

Compensation for this role varies based on factors such as location, role, skills, and experience. The annual salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $65,000, complemented by generous bonus and incentive opportunities that enhance earning potential.
