Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative will serve as a key resource to the department, patients, families, and healthcare team members. This role will support the administrative and scheduling needs of the Innovative Delivery Programs, including Population Health at Home, Remote Patient Monitoring, Complex and Transitional Care, and other population health programs as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Answer and field phone calls and voice mail messages, monitor assigned front desk pools, document events in patients' digital health records, and escalate as appropriate.
  2. Fax, scan PHI into digital health records, and sort mail.
  3. Schedule and confirm patient appointments and perform check-in and check-out.
  4. Prepare patient charts and information prior to scheduled appointments.
  5. Facilitate activation of patients' MyChart accounts if not active.
  6. Support patient screening for digital remote patient monitoring (RPM) program eligibility and facilitate digital RPM program enrollment.
  7. Order and ship digital remote monitoring devices and confirm patient receipt.
  8. Anticipate problems or issues and solve within the scope of responsibility.
  9. Review digital RPM patient agreements and ensure signed.
  10. Collaborate with patients, caregivers, providers, and other healthcare team members.
  11. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  12. Attend in-services to further develop position and department.
  13. Perform all related duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum one year of recent registration or billing experience working in a medical facility is preferred. Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals is also preferred. Epic experience is a plus. Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication, and teamwork skills are essential. Demonstrated performance of excellent customer service skills is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

A customer service-oriented attitude, pleasant demeanor, and excellent phone etiquette are must-haves. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. Proficiency in computer use is required.
