Patient Service Coordinator

Our multispecialty and urgent care providers serve millions of patients across traditional practices, patients' homes, and virtually through VillageMD and our operating companies Village Medical, Village Medical at Home, Summit Health, CityMD, and Starling Physicians.
Job DescriptionThe Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our incoming patients at CityMD. This individual is responsible for registering patients, coordinating with the team, and ensuring a timely turnaround for the patient. The PSR responds to patient questions and concerns with kindness and urgency, both on the phone and in person, and is responsible for all paperwork associated with patient registration.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and welcome patients
- Organize and coordinate patient intake and appointments
- Accurately enter and update patient information in the system
- Assist patients with paperwork when necessary
- Scan, update, and file medical records
- Answer phone calls and questions in a prompt and polite manner
- Process medical insurance information and verify patient eligibility
- Handle cash and co-payments accurately and responsibly
- Provide outstanding customer service to every patient
- Inform site managers of waiting room wait times and patient inquiries
- A High School Degree or GED
- A happy, welcoming, and can-do attitude with patients and coworkers
- Experience working in a high-volume/high-intensity service industry (e.g., hospitality, restaurant, hospital, medical office, or retail environment)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and a team player
- Computer proficiency and superior keyboarding skills (approximately 55 wpm)
- Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
- Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment
- Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members
- Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location
Ability to sit and stand for periods of time. Heavy computer use required.
Pay Rate: $18.25/hr
