Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing and maintaining administration of respiratory therapy procedures. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and Monitor Respiratory Therapy Procedures: Administer and monitor respiratory therapy procedures as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of care.
  • Assess Patient Conditions: Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions, communicating effectively with physicians to ensure optimal care.
  • Document Therapy and Patient Progress: Accurately document therapy and patient progress in medical records, maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Respond to Emergency Situations: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, such as Code Blue calls, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Maintain Patient Airways and Ventilation: Set up and monitor ventilators and BiPAP patients, communicating with medical and nursing staff to ensure optimal care.
  • Perform Pulmonary Function Testing: Administer pulmonary function testing as ordered by physicians, providing accurate and reliable results.
  • Administer Pulmonary Consults: Provide pulmonary consults to patients, offering expert advice and guidance on respiratory care.
  • Assist with Patient Education and Staff Development: Assist with patient education and staff development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care, with registration within twelve months of employment.
  • Current BLS Certification: Possess current BLS certification, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • State of Minnesota License: Hold a current license by the State of Minnesota as an RT, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP Certification: Obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification within three months of employment, demonstrating a commitment to advanced life support and patient care.
  • Attendance and Reliability: Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, ensuring a high level of productivity and efficiency.
