Position Overview
The role entails delivering analytical support and resource valuation focused on the economics of forest carbon offsets. You will collaborate with team members to conduct timber and carbon investment assessments, develop harvest schedules, and engage in both tactical and strategic resource modeling. Your expertise will also extend to evaluating third-party investment frameworks aimed at carbon sequestration.

Scope of Work
This position encompasses all commercial forest investment areas globally, with a primary emphasis on North America.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct forest carbon offset and sequestration modeling.
- Lead and support the underwriting of carbon-centric timberland acquisitions, implementing strategies such as improved forest management and reforestation protocols across various registries.
- Prepare educational and investment materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in forest carbon planning and investment modeling to enhance the management of current assets.
- Generate periodic reports detailing timberland property carbon stocks and greenhouse gas profiles.
- Assist in all phases of property acquisition, including investment modeling and due diligence.
- Review third-party property appraisals and annual Long-Term Plans (LTPs) as well as Comprehensive Property Management Plans (CPMPs).
- Provide analytical support to accounting and portfolio management teams.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field is required; a graduate degree in a forest or carbon-related discipline is highly preferred.
- At least two years of experience in carbon modeling, forest management planning, or timberland investment planning is necessary (a graduate degree may substitute for work experience).
- Strong understanding of forest carbon analytics and market trends.
- Proficiency in growth and yield models, harvest scheduling, and discounted cash flow analysis.
