Position Overview:

The Piping Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and guiding activities within the Piping sector. This role involves ensuring that all construction tasks and contractor performances adhere to specified standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

This position operates on a FIFO schedule with a 3:1 roster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for Piping staff, completing evaluations for direct reports.
  • Champion safety protocols, accident prevention, and fire safety on-site, including conducting safety orientations and leading safety meetings.
  • Utilize the latest design documents for work execution, ensuring all design modifications receive necessary approvals before implementation.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities to guarantee adherence to specifications and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with Labor Relations for recruitment and training initiatives for craft personnel.
  • Implement corporate policies and procedures within the assigned piping operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Proven supervisory experience with a strong capability to lead and manage transitions is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the Heavy Industrial sector.
Essential Skills:
  • Exhibits strong communication skills vital for motivating team members and conveying plans effectively.
  • Extensive experience in coordinating and liaising with subcontractors.
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses knowledge of engineering and construction methodologies typically gained through specialized training or hands-on experience.

Must have working rights in Australia without employer sponsorship.

Additional Information:

This role involves exposure to varying environmental, construction, and operational conditions, including extensive walking on active sites, climbing, working at heights, and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE). The position may require lifting and working in confined spaces, with variable shifts including nights and weekends.

As a Major Hazard Facility, the site enforces a strict non-smoking policy.
