Position Overview:

The Piping Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and managing activities within the Piping sector. This role is crucial in ensuring that all construction tasks and contractor performances align with established specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

This position operates on a FIFO schedule with a 3:1 roster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs for Piping staff, completing evaluations for direct reports.
  • Provide leadership in safety initiatives, including accident prevention and fire safety on the project site. This encompasses safety orientations, preparation of safety protocols, and leading safety meetings with both Bechtel and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that the latest design documents are utilized for work execution and that all design modifications receive approval before implementation.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities to guarantee adherence to specifications and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Labor/Industrial Relations to facilitate craft recruitment and training initiatives.
  • Implement corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines within the assigned piping operations.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead and manage change effectively.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar capacity within the Heavy Industrial sector.
Essential Skills:
  • Exhibits strong communication skills vital for motivating team members and articulating plans clearly.
  • Extensive experience in coordinating and liaising with subcontractors.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering and construction methodologies typically acquired through specialized training or practical experience.

Additional Considerations:

This role entails responsibilities that may involve exposure to varying environmental, construction, and operational conditions, including extensive walking on active sites, climbing, working at heights, and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
