About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients, particularly those who require 1:1 observation and those at risk for falls and other harm to themselves.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to patients, including escorting them to appointments and activities
  • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Help patients with medication management and administration
  • Participate in patient education and support groups
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of training or demonstrated understanding and practical competency in areas such as understanding the needs of the elderly, handicapped, or convalescing individuals; transportation and escort services; alerting staff for medical emergencies; and infection control
  • Healthcare experience preferred
