Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all aspects of telecommunications construction, including but not limited to loading, driving, delivering, digging, and placing various construction materials and equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment for digging and installation tasks.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
  • Operate or work in proximity to heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Work effectively in congested or remote locations.
  • Maintain visual and audible communication with team members and ensure safe coordination of movements.
  • Execute general construction tasks under the supervision of a Foreman or Supervisor.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Gain familiarity with all crew functions and assist the operator and foreman as needed.
  • Prepare and clean up construction sites.
  • Develop an understanding of buried utilities.
  • Lift and transport heavy equipment and supplies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficient in using hand tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and related documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications, fiber optics, and utility operations.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high humidity, extreme temperatures, and inclement weather.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing, with the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
