Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Fund Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Real Estate and Investment Management industry.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent, hybrid role that combines the best of both worlds, where you will have the opportunity to work both remotely and in a traditional office setting.
  • As a Senior Fund Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and controlling Fund Accounting transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support all aspects related to Fund Accounting, including month-end closing activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
  2. Coordinate with the finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  3. Generate client billing and conduct account reconciliation promptly and accurately.
  4. Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to the IT team for performance improvements.
  5. Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
  6. Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
  7. Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues, and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
  8. Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
  9. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  10. Conduct periodical reviews for insurance, tax, VAT, and other related compliance.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
  3. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  4. Deep knowledge of best practices in accounting and financial management.
  5. Familiarity with fund accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, payables coding, and foreign exchange calculations.
  6. Experience with Yardi or equivalent software is a must.
  7. Able to work in a hybrid environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  8. Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers.
  9. Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  10. Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details.
  11. Able to meet communicated schedules and deadlines.
  12. Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines.
  13. Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000, depending on location and qualifications.
