Senior Accounting Specialist Position

Cubalex is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to advancing human rights, and we are seeking a highly skilled senior accounting specialist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success and growth of our organization.

About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, including reviewing and analyzing financial reports and accounting records to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. They will also prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, assist in the development of financial projections and forecasts, and ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, accounts payable, and other financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Review and analyze financial reports and accounting records to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement financial analysis and reporting tools to support decision-making and improve financial performance.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks online software and familiar with financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with staff and management.

Salary:$80,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
