Position Overview:
Role Summary
This role is pivotal in spearheading strategic projects aimed at refining Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, methodologies, and offerings. Collaborating closely with the ERM Senior Director and the wider ERM team, you will enhance governance structures, frameworks, and principles to effectively navigate risks across the organization, transforming ERM into a competitive edge. You will work in partnership with business and risk stakeholders to identify challenges, pinpoint enhancement opportunities, and bolster enterprise risk identification and evaluation tools. Establishing regular interactions with first- and second-line teams will be crucial for delivering training, sharing best practices, and acting as a primary resource for ERM objectives and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance ERM's oversight of change management processes and the broader risk management framework.
- Oversee enterprise-wide governance and provide constructive challenge to change management initiatives, including new or modified products and services.
- Provide strategic guidance, design, execution, and compliance monitoring for risk assessments related to changes and implementation efforts.
- Collaborate with first-line and enterprise change teams to ensure effective execution of change-related activities.
- Coordinate with other second-line teams to ensure consistency and transparency in risk assessments associated with changes and their impact on the overall risk profile.
- Utilize automation and analytical tools to improve change management implementation and oversight, ensuring comprehensive reporting and integration with other business and risk reports.
- Work with first and second-line teams to align strategic objectives for change initiatives.
- Ensure integration with key second-line programs, including Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, Key Risk Indicators, and Issues Management.
- Regularly assess objectives, outcomes, and processes within ERM products to discover improvement opportunities; methodologies may include effective challenge, data analysis, stakeholder workshops, and user feedback surveys.
- Influence risk management practices by leveraging an enterprise-wide risk perspective and fostering a culture of risk awareness.
- Engage with key user groups (e.g., frontline business units) across the organization to educate on risk management principles, share best practices, and guide users.
- Act as a primary contact for ERM stakeholders, providing expert guidance and training on risk management and ERM processes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and enhance ERM programs through automation; assist the ERM team in data analysis, product evaluations, and ongoing execution.
- Conduct ad hoc ERM activities to support special projects, regulatory inquiries, or internal audits.
- Collaborate effectively with others to achieve timely resolution of requirements, findings, and leadership goals.
- Employ analytics to identify themes, trends, and impacts across various risk categories (market, liquidity, credit, operational, strategic, compliance, and legal risks) and facilitate discussions on addressing relevant issues.
- Ensure the development, maintenance, and implementation of ERM's policies, standards, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Analytics.
- 10+ years of experience in risk management within a financial context, focusing on enterprise risk management or internal audit.
- 4+ years of experience in people management.
- Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
The base salary for this position typically ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the compensation for this role.
