Financial Operations Manager

We are in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Operations Manager. This individual will oversee all facets of financial reporting and operations while collaborating closely with the office administration team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about contributing to the team's success and will possess a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports in compliance with US GAAP, including all journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliation schedules.
- Manage accounts payable and oversee check runs.
- Calculate and report monthly state sales and use tax.
- Handle cash management and forecasting.
- Maintain fixed asset records.
- Oversee payroll processes, including gathering time punches for hourly employees and coordinating with Payroll Administration for processing.
- Ensure adherence to proper accounting procedures and controls along with related documentation.
- Collaborate with the office administration team, providing accounting guidance as needed.
- Process W-9 requests, Certificate of Insurance requests, and other compliance-related tasks.
- Coordinate with the Group Controller to supply financial information as required.
- Develop and implement process enhancements within the finance functions.
- Manage audit requests effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position will report to the branch leader and work closely with the corporate finance team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- In-depth understanding of the financial close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation schedules, and financial statement packages.
- Experience in financial operations encompassing accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, payroll, and compliance with state and local sales tax regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools, with experience in accounting software.
- A high degree of professionalism and a strong sense of ownership and pride in one’s work.
- Familiarity with Global Edge Davisware and SAGE Intacct is a plus.
- Experience in a trades environment such as construction, electrical, or HVAC is advantageous.
- CPA designation or a desire to pursue CPA certification is a plus.
