Role Summary:

This role is primarily responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all financial operations within the organization. This includes budgeting, managing the general ledger, handling accounts payable and receivable, overseeing grant management and reporting, conducting cash-flow analysis, banking activities, auditing, and other critical financial functions. The position requires the execution and coordination of advanced and technically intricate accounting tasks, often necessitating independent judgment within a moderately sized financial and business environment. All work must comply with generally accepted accounting principles, the organization's policies and procedures, as well as directives from Managers and Directors, and relevant laws and regulations. A strong professional ethic and a commitment to high standards of accuracy and customer service are expected at all times. This is an office-based role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
  2. A minimum of three years of progressively responsible accounting experience or equivalent work experience.
  3. Experience in a non-profit fund accounting setting, with a solid understanding of Florida state grant processes and reporting.
  4. Familiarity with accrual basis accounting systems.
  5. Knowledge of various revenue allocation methods and line item expense distribution across multiple cost centers.
