Key Responsibilities- Business Development: Develop, implement, and coordinate business attraction and retention programs to grow the city's commercial, retail, and industrial base.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to inform business decisions and develop recommendations.
- Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and present reports to stakeholders, including management, department heads, and external partners.
- Program Administration: Administer contract and grant-funded programs, directing and monitoring work performed.
- Communication and Liaison: Provide assistance to management, other City personnel, and the public regarding administrative, fiscal, or operational issues, policies, and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Direct the work of others involved in related activity.
- Collaboration and Communication: Interact with co-workers at all levels in the organization in a collaborative and customer service-oriented manner.
- Attendance and Performance: Maintain prompt and regular attendance and perform all duties within the context of the City's Mission Statement and Organizational Values.
- Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position is qualifying.
- Typical Example: High School Diploma or G.E.D., Bachelor's degree in public administration, accounting, or a related field (desirable).
- Administrative Experience: Two years of responsible governmental administrative experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of principles of municipal administration, accounting and auditing, and budget and grant management. Ability to perform complex professional administrative and analytical work requiring sensitivity to issues.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interpret and apply related laws, ordinances, and policies. Prepare and present reports on a variety of subjects and maintain accurate records.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to direct the work of others involved in related activity. Provide liaison to other City personnel, other agencies, and the public.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate a computer and utilize a variety of software programs.
- Pension Plan: PERS Retirement.
- Life Insurance: City Provided Life Insurance of $100,000.
- Health Insurance: Health Insurance/Benefit Bank of $2,330.94 per month.
- Time Off: 12 Days Paid Vacation, 12 Full-day Holidays (120 hours total), 3-1/2 Floating Holidays (35 hours total), Sick Leave, Management Leave (60 hours) - 30 hours eligible for cash out.
