Job Summary

The Coordinator, Academic Services, plays a critical role in the Office of Instruction by overseeing the scheduling process, ensuring compliance with Title 5 regulations and attendance accounting guidelines. This position works closely with the Academic Services Technician and Senior Administrative Assistants to ensure accurate course scheduling and data entry in Banner. The Coordinator establishes the annual scheduling calendar, communicates deadlines and information to academic divisions and deans, and works extensively in Banner and with the college webmaster to support the online schedule of classes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and monitor technical operations for academic scheduling, curriculum development, and catalog production.
  2. Perform complex research and analysis with college-wide and District-wide impact.
  3. Train staff on course scheduling, curriculum processes, and catalog production.
  4. Ensure program compliance, reporting, and accountability in accordance with federal and state regulations and District policies and procedures.
  5. Provide technical assistance, guidance, and support to division staff and faculty.
  6. Collaborate with Educational Technology Services in the development of process mapping and analysis of problems encountered during testing phases.
  7. Prepare and maintain documentation for scheduling processes.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of academic scheduling, curriculum development, and catalog production processes. They will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will also have experience with Banner and other data management systems, as well as a strong understanding of Title 5 regulations and attendance accounting guidelines.

Working Conditions

The Coordinator, Academic Services, will work in a standard office setting with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 15 pounds with the use of proper equipment.
