Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Massage Therapy Instructor/Program Coordinator to join our team at Foothill De Anza Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching massage therapy courses, coordinating program activities, and promoting student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach massage therapy courses, including lecture and lab components, to students with varying levels of experience and skill.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate program activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, including academic advising and career counseling.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance instruction, curriculum, and student success.
  • Monitor program budget, purchase materials, and write applications for small grants.
  • Coordinate Advisory Board meetings and attend other program-related meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or associate degree and six years of professional experience.
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with students and colleagues.
  • Experience in designing massage therapy, spa, wellness, and alternative medicine curriculum.
  • Commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning, including the ability to reflect on and evaluate the effectiveness of one's own pedagogy.
  • Ability to engage students from a broad spectrum of cultural, academic, socio-economic, and language backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a health-related discipline.
  • Two years of recent full-time or part-time equivalent experience teaching massage therapy, wellness, and/or CAM therapies at the college level.
  • Three years of working in a variety of professional massage therapy environments.
Salary Range
