BBSI Southern California is collaborating with a rapidly expanding client in the construction field to identify a strategic and dynamic Financial Operations Manager. This role is your chance to assume a pivotal leadership position in overseeing the financial functions of a flourishing organization that prioritizes precision, growth, and innovation.

Position Overview:

As the Financial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the company's financial activities, ensuring that all accounting operations are executed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards. You will lead a small team of accounting professionals, uphold financial integrity, and drive financial strategies to facilitate business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of financial management, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll.
  • Manage and schedule all Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting.
  • Supervise the Fixed Assets Module and guarantee accurate tracking of all company assets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including sales tax returns and union reports.
  • Collaborate with the CPA firm to prepare year-end financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Implement and review financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and lead the accounting team, providing guidance on complex accounting issues.
  • Analyze cash flow, costings, and projections, delivering financial insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Ensure all insurance renewals align with the company's risk management strategy and business requirements.
  • Lead the annual budget preparation process, collaborating closely with management to forecast financial needs and future growth.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or senior financial management role.
  • Previous experience in construction accounting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in construction-specific accounting software and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Experience in tax regulations, compliance, and preparing complex tax filings.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
