Position Summary: Are you an experienced financial expert with a strong background in the construction sector? BBSI is collaborating with a rapidly expanding organization in the construction field to identify a proactive Accountant. This opportunity allows you to leverage your skills in a company that prioritizes accuracy, development, and innovation.

Role Overview: In the capacity of an Accountant, you will be pivotal in safeguarding the financial integrity of our client's construction endeavors. Your meticulous nature and expertise will be vital in guaranteeing precise financial documentation, adherence to regulations, and effective teamwork.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Cash Receipts Journal along with Payroll Journal.
  • Organize and oversee all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Supervise the Fixed Assets Module in Duke Pacific Inc. Accounting Software.
  • Compile monthly Union Reports and calculate monthly sales tax prepayments.
  • Administer quarterly sales tax returns, costings, and commissions.
  • Execute adjusting journal entries to the General Ledger.
  • Prepare interim financial statements, including projections for year-end.
  • Collaborate with the CPA firm to generate annual financial statements and tax documentation.
  • Guide and mentor accounting personnel.
  • Assess insurance renewals to ensure alignment with business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Robust understanding of financial principles, reporting, and compliance.
  • Prior accounting experience within a construction context.
  • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with construction-specific accounting software is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • Dependability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and requirements, ensuring accurate and timely compliance.
