Covaris, LLC is a thriving and innovative technology firm focused on advancing scientific solutions. We are currently in search of a Lead Product Strategist to join our dynamic team. Covaris is recognized for its proprietary Adaptive Focused AcousticsTM (AFA) technology, which plays a pivotal role in sample preparation for DNA sequencing and enhances drug delivery and formulation processes.

Position Overview: This role is tailored for a driven professional with a comprehensive scientific background and a solid foundation in product strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in understanding customer requirements and translating these insights into actionable strategies for product development. A collaborative spirit is essential, as the successful candidate will work closely with various departments including Marketing, Sales, Applications, R&D, Manufacturing, and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities: The individual may be tasked with a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to:

  • Formulating the strategic direction for the product portfolio, encompassing new product innovation and lifecycle management.
  • Identifying and fostering strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities.
  • Conducting competitive analysis to understand market dynamics and their implications for Covaris' offerings.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to create sales tools, marketing content, training resources, and promotional materials.
  • Leading a network of Key Opinion Leaders to support current products and guide the development of new solutions.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in Product Strategy and Development.
  • Coordinating the distribution of materials to partners.
  • Gaining in-depth customer insights through direct engagement to inform product specifications and development.
  • Aligning with Sales, Marketing, and Applications teams on technical requirements for new initiatives.
  • Working alongside cross-functional teams to evaluate new business prospects.
  • Creating and managing the product development strategy and roadmap, identifying growth opportunities, and formulating strategic marketing plans to enhance product definition, customer engagement, and market reach.
  • Assisting in the formulation of a marketing strategy that includes sales tactics and approaches for distribution channels, which encompasses marketing materials, sales collateral, launch documentation, presentations, and training.
  • Possessing strong expertise in sample preparation, with a thorough understanding of market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Familiarity with commercialization strategies, including sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure product line profitability, while collaborating with Project Managers to finalize documentation for new product launches.
  • Demonstrating the ability to orchestrate team efforts to achieve and surpass product development objectives.
  • Effectively guiding products from initial concept through to market introduction, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred PhD or Master's degree in a biological or chemical discipline, with experience in Genomics; Oncology experience is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product strategy and/or marketing, with at least 5 years in the life sciences sector.
  • Experience in branding products for life science and clinical markets is beneficial.
  • Proven strategic thinking and implementation capabilities; strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within the domestic market.
