Position Overview

Verdox, Inc. is committed to combating climate change through innovative technology solutions. Our unique electro-swing process, originally developed at MIT, allows for the capture of carbon dioxide and other acidic gases with significantly reduced energy consumption and costs compared to traditional methods. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented and dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing, the Senior Product Development Engineer will spearhead initiatives to design and commercialize cutting-edge products, playing a vital role in the expansion of Verdox.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design intricate mechanical components and systems, including 3D modeling and detailed assembly drawings.
  • Conduct design evaluations, FMEA, and implement best practices in product development.
  • Build and test prototype systems, assisting in design verification processes.
  • Oversee product and component specifications, ensuring the quality of incoming materials.
  • Transform prototype designs into scalable solutions that meet performance and cost objectives.
  • Develop and execute large-scale implementations of Verdox technologies.
  • Lead hardware development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Technology Development and various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work alongside Supply Chain to identify and cultivate new supplier relationships.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to product design and development.
  • Support the installation of Verdox products in the field.
Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field; Master's degree preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in developing complex electromechanical products or systems is required.
  • Experience in an ISO-regulated environment is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in Solidworks, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 is preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in building and testing complex systems, ideally within a structured phase-gate process.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate complex technical designs to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification processes.
  • Proven project management skills with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative, and rapidly changing startup environment.
  • Experience with gas or liquid processing systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to contribute beyond core competencies to fulfill company objectives.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • 60% of the role involves shop-floor and laboratory work, while 40% is office-based.
  • Ability to lift components weighing up to 35 lbs is necessary.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing as needed.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel may be required up to 10-20%, including both domestic and international locations.
