Production Team Supervisor - 2nd Shift - Extrusion

Position Overview

The Production Team Supervisor will play a pivotal role in enhancing the safety, quality, efficiency, and morale within the manufacturing sector. This position involves collaborating closely with team members to foster an environment of motivation and empowerment through effective coaching and development initiatives. As a key figure in the leadership team, you will engage cross-functionally to promote and uphold the Corporate WIN Strategy and the overarching Parker Lean System.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily production operations in designated areas to fulfill customer requirements and ensure satisfaction while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze performance metrics to provide constructive feedback, identify challenges, and collaborate with senior management to devise solutions.
  • Manage documentation processes and ensure timely reporting of metrics. Assign complex work orders and blueprints to team members for preparation, processing, and inspection of parts to achieve optimal quality and output.
  • Ensure proper packaging of intricate products and materials to facilitate workflow completion.
  • Collaborate across various departments to address business needs related to extrusion, molding, FIP, TLS, trimming, splicing, and all chemical value streams.
  • Assist process engineering in integrating new products into the manufacturing workflow and perform advanced troubleshooting while communicating effectively across departments to resolve issues.
  • Champion company LEAN initiatives and High-Performance team goals through training and management of team improvement boards and engagement activities.
  • Lead safety protocols and the 5S program, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific operational environments, including those involving hazardous materials and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident Status is required.
  • A GED or High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing or a comparable field is essential, with a preference for experience in mentoring and leading teams within a lean manufacturing context.
  • Proficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment such as power pallet jacks and hoists; forklift certification is preferred.
  • Ability to guide and lead a team of indirect reports to meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong mathematical, reading, writing, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and process monitoring software.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, with a focus on effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and lift or move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals; specific certifications or licenses may be necessary.
