Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Physician Operations or designated representative, this role involves delivering comprehensive medical services to evaluate, diagnose, plan, and treat a diverse patient population facing various health challenges within the facilities of Northwest Community Hospital.

Collaborative Care:
Engagement with an interdisciplinary healthcare team is essential to ensure coordinated clinical management of patient care, resulting in integrated healthcare that is timely, high-quality, customer-focused, and resource-efficient to enhance patient outcomes.

  1. Direct Patient Care:
    Deliver evidence-based direct patient care, including thorough clinical assessments, diagnosis, planning, and treatment for a variety of health conditions and injuries.
  2. Individualized Care Plans:
    Identify anticipated outcomes based on assessment data and diagnoses, developing a comprehensive, personalized care plan that encompasses interventions, treatments, and follow-up recommendations.
  3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
    Consult and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to define and implement patient care interventions and treatments, providing guidance and education to support staff as necessary.
  4. Patient Advocacy:
    Facilitate ethical decision-making on behalf of patients by maintaining confidentiality, acting as a patient advocate, and empowering patients to advocate for their own health.
  5. Patient Education:
    Regularly communicate the care plan to patients and their families, assisting them in understanding the risks and benefits of treatments and promoting health and preventive care.
  6. Documentation Standards:
    Adhere to established documentation practices to ensure that medical records accurately reflect the intensity of services provided, severity of illness, and all necessary diagnostic and treatment information.
  7. Physician Collaboration:
    Engage in collaborative consultations with other physicians as needed for patient care evaluation and management.
  8. Administrative Collaboration:
    Work alongside Northwest Community Hospital administrative leadership to optimize resource utilization, practice efficiency, and quality protocols.
  9. Compliance:
    Align with Northwest Community Hospital medical staff in accordance with established bylaws and adhere to all organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:
1. Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a valid medical license in the state of Illinois.
2. Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
3. Active DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License.
4. Current CPR certification or specialty-specific advanced life support (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, medical personnel, and other healthcare team members in a compassionate and customer-oriented manner.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based medical care standards for the specialty area.
7. Ability to perform effectively under the pressure of emergency situations.
8. Capability to prioritize patient care to support efficient patient flow in Northwest Community Hospital facilities.
9. Flexibility to work part-time or full-time and assist in covering vacancies as necessary.
