Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cranial Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. As a key member of our Cranial Neurosurgery Program, you will have the opportunity to work with a growing team of Advanced Practice Providers and pioneering physicians to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as an Advanced Practice Provider within the Cranial Neurosurgery Department, providing inpatient care, outpatient clinic, and OR services.
  • Round and manage inpatient consults, pre- and post-operative cranial neurosurgery patients, and provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments.
  • Assist with pre-admission and explain procedures to patients, and participate in outpatient-based clinic for new consults and post-surgical patients.
  • Formulate individualized medical-surgical treatment plans in a shared-decision making model and facilitate discharge care.
  • Provide patient education, motivation, respect, and empathy to the highest standard, and work within a multi-disciplinary team as a resource and consultant.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings and case conferences, and identify opportunities for and implement program growth initiatives.
  • Positively contribute to safety outcomes, quality initiatives, and promote high-quality patient experiences.
Requirements
  • Advanced Practice Provider Licensure (PA-C or APN-CNP) in the State of Illinois required.
  • Completion of accredited program from either Masters level Physician Assistant Program or Advanced Practice Nurse Graduate/Doctoral Level Nursing Program (APRN RNFA required for Cranial Neurosurgery).
  • BLS/CPR certification and ACLS certification required.
  • Prior Advanced Practice Provider experience in an acute care hospital setting, neurosurgery, neurology, or surgical services preferred but not required.
