Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere by consistently preparing table settings and maintaining service stations in line with company standards.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the food and beverage offerings and actively promotes and recommends selections based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Manages orders for designated areas utilizing on-board systems and technology.
    Delivers food and beverages as requested, punctually, in the correct order, and in accordance with brand standards.
  • Ensures adherence to service protocols during meal periods, including clearing and sanitizing tables to brand specifications.
  • Fosters a memorable connection with each guest by demonstrating genuine interest during service and remaining fully engaged throughout the cruise.
  • Observes and identifies guest preferences, adapting service accordingly and anticipating needs.
  • Understands the amenities, products, and service expectations of their area and promptly addresses any issues that may negatively affect the guest experience.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the ship's dining venues and their operating hours to provide flexible options for individual guest preferences.
  • Maximizes beverage sales by presenting relevant options in an inviting manner and using available tools to deliver a personalized experience.
  • Records orders promptly and accurately through the on-board point of sale system.
  • Promotes specialty dining venues to enhance the guest dining experience and strives to exceed established targets.
  • Carefully executes sales promotions and special event notifications as directed by the Dining Room Manager without disrupting the guest's dining experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Minimum of three years of fine dining experience as a Server or Restaurant Supervisor. Experience on cruise ships in a similar capacity is strongly preferred but not mandatory. Alternatively, candidates should have experience in a large hotel or resort setting.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards and international cuisine. A good understanding of wine is also essential.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Comprehension of guest service fundamentals and the ability and willingness to provide exceptional service to our guests.
  • Motivated to excel in all aspects of the role.
  • Personable communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and a warm, friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to consistently surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
  • Commitment to establishing and maintaining courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
