ROLE OVERVIEW
Perry St Restaurant by Jean-Georges is eager to welcome experienced Servers to our dynamic team. If you possess a passion for hospitality and aspire to be part of a remarkable team with significant growth potential, this opportunity is designed for you. The Server role offers a meticulously crafted dining or beverage experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Anticipate guests' needs and demonstrate expertise on menu selections.
- Articulate the food and beverage offerings to guests.
- Provide engaging and vivid descriptions of each item's origin, flavor profile, and preparation techniques.
- Relay guest orders, including any special requests, to the kitchen using the point-of-sale system.
- Efficiently coordinate the timing of food service between courses.
- Verify completed kitchen orders against the guest's original order.
- Proactively assess guest satisfaction and respond promptly to any concerns or requests.
- Effectively upsell menu items.
- Process payments accurately.
- Complete assigned side work and tasks as directed by management.
- Maintain an organized and efficient section while multitasking and observing the entire dining area.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fine dining.
- A genuine passion for food, wine, and service.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage.
- Strong sense of urgency and excellent time management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Understanding of tableside etiquette.
- Commitment to a minimum of 2 years in the position.
- Aspirations for long-term growth within the service industry.
- A competitive mindset.
- Focus on hospitality and building rapport with guests, fostering a regular clientele.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
The base pay for this position starts at minimum wage, with a tip credit applied where applicable. The specific compensation for each employee in this role is determined by various factors, including prior experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
