Sterile Processing Technician, Patewood, Evening

As a Sterile Processing Technician with Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate and sterilize medical instruments and equipment using various methods, including autoclaving and chemical disinfection.
- Prepare and assemble instrument trays and sets according to established protocols.
- Document all activities related to instrument and equipment processing in the Instrument Tracking System.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest sterilization and instrument preparation techniques and technologies.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT) is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 6 months experience in a hospital or clinical setting may be considered in lieu of education.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and patients.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and instruments.
