Project Controls Analyst

Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to provide essential support to our Project Execution, Finance, and Development teams. This position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and collaborate closely with project managers, finance, and development personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing project budgets and cost control activities, including budgeting, scheduling, change management, estimating, and progress tracking.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of project accounting and accrual processes.
- Exhibit strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Support the development of detailed project schedules based on insights gathered from team members.
- Establish project budgets, set baselines, and report on variances.
- Monitor project progress and conduct analyses to identify bottlenecks, trends, and critical paths.
- Recognize and communicate project risks while formulating mitigation strategies.
- Prepare project status presentations that emphasize key achievements, risks, and modifications.
- Create customized project reports as necessary to facilitate discussions.
- Provide additional assistance as required by project managers or project controls managers, including field project coordination and management of sub-projects.
- Track project deliverables and monitor physical completion percentages.
- Manage Plan/Actual/Forecast curves.
- Oversee schedule development and maintenance using Microsoft Project.
- Generate tailored schedule reports according to project requirements.
Cost Management:
- Develop and adhere to a comprehensive Project Controls Plan.
- Establish and maintain project cost structures.
- Provide project cost data and necessary documentation within the project's control systems.
- Ensure effective change management throughout all project phases.
- Develop and maintain detailed cash flow and commitment flow throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and validate compliance of project invoices with contractual obligations.
- Assist project managers in the financial close-out of projects.
- At project completion, compile and ensure the recording of historical cost information and lessons learned for future reference.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A four-year relevant bachelor's degree coupled with a minimum of five years of experience in Cost Control, Planning, and Scheduling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experienced in establishing and monitoring complex project schedules.
- Demonstrated expertise in various aspects of project controls, accounting, estimating, planning/scheduling, progress measurement, and forecasting/reporting.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of estimating and benchmarking practices.
