Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Human Resources is a pivotal leadership role that demands extensive experience in HR, strong leadership capabilities, and strategic insight. In this position, you will cultivate positive business relationships to design and execute HR strategies that align with the overarching goals and objectives of the organization. You will lead a team of HR professionals focused on talent acquisition, employee retention, training and development, and fostering a culture of employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee core HR processes and tools, including payroll systems, HRIS systems, labor requirements, training needs, and strategies aimed at reducing employee turnover while enhancing the employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to develop, implement, and maintain effective business solutions that address current and future human resources needs, including Organizational Design, Performance Management Systems, succession planning, Health & Welfare Programs, and Employee Relations.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the people perspective in business decisions, assessing the impact on the workforce and offering solutions to optimize opportunities while mitigating risks.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including harassment and discrimination claims, while ensuring equitable application of policies across the organization.
  • Manage local payroll activities, including leadership training and coordination with the Payroll center of excellence for issue resolution.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of benefits, including health and welfare, pension plans, holiday and PTO pay, and salary continuation plans.
  • Conduct open enrollment functions as required by the Benefits center of excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations, including COBRA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and Pregnancy leave acts.
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Human Resources Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; advanced certifications in Human Resources Management are a plus.
  • SPHR Certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Human Resources Manager role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to employees and management.
  • Experience with HRIS and Payroll software applications and operations.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively to meet critical deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, with less than 25% travel expected within North America.
