Business Development Director

About the Role:
Cambrex is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Director to drive growth of our Drug Substance CDMO business in the US Pacific West Coast territory.
This position involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and developing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our market presence.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aggressively pursue development, technical transfer, and commercial manufacturing opportunities for drug substance manufacturing
- Build strong, long-term client relationships and forge new business partnerships
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and new business opportunities
- Understand industry and customer needs and actively contribute to provide solutions that will generate value for the customer
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction
- Lead the initiative to introduce new projects and business opportunities pursuant to Cambrex's overall business strategy
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related life-science degree
- Minimum of 6-8 years' experience in business development, with proven track record in selling CDMO services
- Experience in API, fine chemicals, and custom technologies is desired
- Commercial experience in pharmaceutical or related industry is preferred
