Position Overview:

The Key Account Manager is pivotal in establishing Balchem as the preferred supplier for our most significant clients. This role focuses on fostering customer relationships, showcasing extensive market knowledge, delivering profitable solutions, and ensuring exceptional service. The Key Account Manager will lead cross-functional teams to create and implement both short-term and long-term strategic plans tailored to their assigned accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic account plans for key clients, regularly reviewing progress against sales targets.
2. Identify customer needs independently and collaborate with various departments, including Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service, to deliver effective solutions.
3. Gather and analyze market data to inform business strategies, monitor industry trends, and recommend actions to maintain and grow business.
4. Schedule and conduct regular meetings with assigned accounts to build strong relationships and provide multi-level support.
5. Manage contracts and pricing negotiations for assigned accounts.
6. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and take responsibility for achieving budget and growth objectives.
7. Address customer inquiries regarding product samples, technical data, and application support.
8. Operate with minimal supervision while adhering to corporate policies and procedures.
9. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred, with a technical degree being advantageous.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in sales or business development, particularly in managing complex consumer packaged goods within the food ingredient sector.
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills, with a successful track record in developing and executing strategic initiatives.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration between Balchem and its clients.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% with overnight stays as necessary.
