Position Overview:

The Strategic Account Executive is pivotal in positioning Balchem as the preferred supplier for our most significant clients. This role emphasizes cultivating deep customer relationships, showcasing exceptional market insight, and delivering profitable solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to formulate and implement both immediate and long-term strategic plans tailored to their designated accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive strategic account plans for key clients, ensuring regular updates and reviews against sales objectives.
2. Proactively identify client needs and collaborate with various departments such as Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service to provide effective solutions.
3. Gather and analyze market data to support business objectives, keeping abreast of industry trends and competitive activities to safeguard existing business and foster new opportunities.
4. Schedule and conduct regular meetings with assigned accounts, facilitating collaboration among company professionals to strengthen multi-level relationships.
5. Oversee contract management and pricing negotiations for assigned accounts.
6. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and take responsibility for achieving budgetary and growth targets.
7. Address customer inquiries regarding product samples, technical specifications, and application support.
8. Operate with minimal supervision while adhering to corporate policies and procedures.
9. Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred, with a technical degree being advantageous.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in sales or business development, particularly within the food ingredient sector, managing multiple complex consumer packaged goods.
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills, with a track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives, and an established network within the food ingredient industry is preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the capability to lead cross-functional initiatives between Balchem and its clients at all organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays.
