Position Overview

The Office of Student Life at Georgia Gwinnett College is committed to fostering an engaging and supportive educational atmosphere. We are seeking enthusiastic students to provide assistance with event preparation and support for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) within the Student Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the arrangement of meeting and event spaces as per requests submitted through the event registration process.
  • Provide daily support for events, which includes resetting meeting areas, managing event equipment checkouts, assisting with reservations, and staying informed about the event schedule.
  • Reorganize furniture in lounge areas and various event spaces as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety in all storage facilities.
  • Manage inventory and warehouse materials, including the transportation of items.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of artwork throughout the facility, including contributions to the Student Art Gallery.
  • Support audio/visual needs across the building, particularly with the OSL Sound Cart.
  • Contribute to event decoration efforts, including table settings and centerpieces.
  • Help with seasonal and monthly themed decorations throughout the facility.
  • Install banners in designated locations within the Student Center.

Work Schedule
This position may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must possess a Federal Work Study award.
  • Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College is required.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 is necessary.
  • Must maintain good academic standing throughout the duration of employment.
  • Good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity is required.
  • Proficiency in using Windows-based PCs and/or MAC systems.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Familiarity with GGC/Student Affairs/SISC.
  • Understanding of GGC/SISC policies.
  • Knowledge of campus groups and organizations.
  • Creativity and innovation in event management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in event management and support.
