Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Police Officer to join our team at GeorgiaGov. As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guard and monitor buildings to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the safety of individuals on campus.
  • Investigate criminal complaints, vehicle accidents, and other incidents to identify causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure effective communication and response to emergencies.
  • Patrol campus areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Respond to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events to protect life and property.
  • Warn individuals of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force if necessary.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities to document incidents and track trends.
  • Collaborate with other departments to prepare and analyze damage assessments following emergencies.
  • Escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals to specified locations and provide personal protection.
  • Direct traffic during special events and provide security for events.
Requirements
  • High School or GED.
  • GA P.O.S.T certification is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
  • 10 years police law enforcement experience.
  • Campus law enforcement experience.
Working Conditions
  • This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies at any time.
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • This position requires the ability to work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • This position requires the ability to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
