Position Overview

The Office of Student Life at Georgia Gwinnett College is committed to fostering an engaging and supportive educational atmosphere. We are seeking enthusiastic students to provide assistance with event coordination and logistical support for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) within the Student Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the arrangement of meeting and event spaces as per requests submitted through the event registration process.
  • Provide daily support for events, including resetting meeting areas, managing event equipment checkouts, assisting with reservations, and maintaining an awareness of the event calendar.
  • Reorganize furniture in lounge areas, classrooms, and event venues as needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety in all storage locations.
  • Manage departmental inventory and warehouse supplies, including the transportation of materials.
  • Assist in the installation and removal of artwork throughout the facility, including the Student Art Gallery.
  • Support audio/visual needs across the building, particularly with the OSL Sound Cart.
  • Contribute to event decorations, such as tablecloths and centerpieces.
  • Help with seasonal and monthly themed decorations throughout the venue.
  • Install banners in various locations within the Student Center.

Work Schedule
This position may involve non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a Federal Work Study award.
  • Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College is required.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 is necessary.
  • Must maintain good academic standing throughout employment.
  • Good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based PCs and/or MAC systems is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills are necessary.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities are required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines is essential.
  • Teamwork skills are important.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment is preferred.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are highly valued.
