Position Overview

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator plays a crucial role in the daily functions of the Security Operations Center. Responsibilities include monitoring security systems, coordinating with field Security Officers and Specialists, and managing calls for service to appropriate units.

The SOC operates continuously, requiring Operators to be available for various shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary. SOC Operators work under the guidance of a SOC Lead and collaborate with the Security Operations Center team, ensuring a supportive environment for colleagues, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating assistance from emergency personnel as required.
  • Assess the nature of calls and prioritize them accordingly.
  • Generate and maintain alarm reports and accurate records.
  • Monitor both internal and external security systems.
  • Assist emergency service units by verifying information through various data sources.
  • Utilize two-way radios to communicate instructions to remote units.
  • Operate dispatch-related equipment and software effectively.
  • Step into supervisory roles when necessary, with management approval.
  • Make informed decisions quickly and accurately in high-pressure situations.
  • Contribute to daily briefings with valuable insights.
  • Manage multiple emergency situations simultaneously.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
  • Valid driver's license or state ID required.
  • Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to remain composed in stressful situations.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Capability to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-oriented approach with attention to detail.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in public emergency services, private security, military, IT, or related fields.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or certification in IT, Cyber Security, Criminal Justice, or a related discipline.
