POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist is tasked with overseeing and managing stock levels at various client sites. This role involves effective communication with clients as well as internal sales teams. Timely pickups and deliveries are essential, utilizing a company vehicle for transportation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and ensure the upkeep of the company vehicle.
  • Engage in safety training sessions and certification programs.
  • Organize and position products on shelves, racks, or bins according to established codes or specified criteria - including type, size, and color.
  • Retrieve customer orders through carousel and bulk picking based on purchase orders or shipping documentation.
  • Package and prepare items for dispatch using common carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx) and truck shipping; verify packing lists.
  • Assist in conducting cycle counts as necessary.
  • Restock, inventory, and report low stock levels at client locations.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including unloading trucks and verifying merchandise.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Effective time management to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology or mapping applications and knowledge of the local area.
  • Capability to load and unload heavy items.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management is advantageous.
  • Experience with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as purchase orders and shipping manifests is required.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience or training preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary (Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems, basic data entry).
  • Mechanical and technical knowledge is required.
  • Familiarity with Fluid Connector products and the ability to identify appropriate fitting thread types is preferred.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires physical activity typical of a medium-duty warehouse environment, including frequent movement, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting weights exceeding 50 pounds, as well as operating a vehicle for varying durations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work setting is characteristic of a warehouse, with occasional exposure to loud noises and varying outdoor temperatures. The role may involve exposure to moving machinery, vehicles, and working at heights. Additionally, the position necessitates regular vehicle operation and may include exposure to high heat or chemicals.
