Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist is tasked with overseeing and managing stock levels at various client sites. This role involves effective communication with clients as well as the internal sales teams at Motion & Control Enterprises. Timely pickups and deliveries will be executed using a company vehicle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the operational condition of the company vehicle.
  • Engage in safety training and certification programs.
  • Organize and categorize products on shelves, racks, or bins based on predetermined criteria such as type, size, and color.
  • Retrieve customer orders through carousel and bulk picking methods in accordance with purchase orders and shipping documentation.
  • Package and prepare shipments using standard carriers (UPS, FedEx) and truck transport; verify packing lists.
  • Assist in conducting inventory counts as necessary.
  • Restock, monitor inventory levels, and report shortages at client locations.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including unloading trucks and verifying merchandise.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Effective time management to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with GPS technology and mapping applications.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy items.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management is advantageous.
  • Experience with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents like purchase orders and shipping manifests is required.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience or training preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, including familiarity with inventory software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Understanding of Fluid Connector products and the ability to identify appropriate fitting types is beneficial.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires physical activity typical of a medium work warehouse environment, including frequent movement, climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting items over 50 pounds, as well as operating a vehicle for varying durations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work setting is typical of a warehouse, with occasional exposure to loud noises and varying temperatures. Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and work at heights. The role necessitates regular vehicle operation and may involve exposure to hazardous conditions.
