As a comprehensive provider of technology infrastructure solutions, we have established enduring partnerships with commercial clients, service providers, and government entities. Our dedication to the safety and development of our team members is central to our mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
In the position of Laborer II, you will assist our wireline team in the installation of fiber optic cables for various telecommunication initiatives. This role is perfect for someone eager to advance their career in the utility construction field. We will equip you with the necessary tools, training, and support to master the trade and unlock extensive growth opportunities.
- Utilize your mid-level laborer skills by performing a variety of tasks such as hand digging, setting up traffic control, operating entry-level machinery, placing fiber, and loading materials on safety-sensitive utility construction sites.
- Exhibit your ability to read utility prints and maps, ensuring precise and efficient project execution.
- Leverage your experience in operating various equipment (including directional drills, mini excavators, and plows) to contribute to project success while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in the setup and shutdown of utility construction projects, including traffic control, in diverse environments.
- Prioritize safety by consistently following required safety practices while performing your duties.
- Engage in a learning environment, training alongside experienced construction teams to gain expertise in fiber installation, print reading, equipment operation, and OSHA standards.
- Play a vital role in the team by loading and unloading materials and equipment from vehicles at construction sites.
- Embrace leadership responsibilities by supporting the Foreman, leading by example, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in on-the-job training to become a skilled operator and progress towards a Foreman position, further enhancing your career trajectory.
- Proactively identify hazards through the pre-task process, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Be prepared to assist with other duties as needed, demonstrating your versatility and commitment to the team's success.
In this dynamic role, you may need to adapt to various physical activities, including sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing. While on-site, you may encounter different noise levels and weather conditions. Your safety is our top priority, and you will be required to wear standard protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in utility construction and at least 6 months of experience operating heavy equipment, including Hydro, Drill, Mini, and Plow.
