Job Summary:
- Use advanced technical equipment to accurately locate underground facilities such as telephone lines, electrical power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines.
- Communicate and interact daily with managers, excavation crews, and homeowners to discuss locate issues.
- Interpret job order tickets and respond appropriately to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Read maps and blueprints to ensure accurate location of utilities.
- Determine efficient route to each locate in rural and urban areas.
- Remove and replace manhole lids.
Responsibilities:
- Perform locate duties before or after normal business hours when on call.
- Operate independently and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to access restricted and/or controlled areas.
- Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
- Ability to use computer to complete documentation and receive and send email.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk all types of terrain in and around construction zones and residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas.
Requirements:
- Willingness to learn and receive instructor-led training to receive locator certification.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
