This position is essential for maintaining dependable systems, supporting preventive maintenance initiatives, and enhancing the skills of the Facilities Technician team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utility Reliability: Oversee the overall reliability of plant utilities and shared services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain necessary permits and foster relationships with regulatory agencies and external utility providers.
  • Daily Operations: Participate in daily reliability meetings, addressing issues and formulating action plans related to plant utility systems.
  • Team Development: Facilitate ongoing development of the facilities team through diverse educational opportunities and coaching on technical aspects of facility operations, aiming to cultivate multi-craft technicians.
  • Cost Management: Own utility cost outcomes, conduct gap analyses, and implement improvement plans at the plant level.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Utilize facility maintenance resources and external contractors to prioritize mechanical and electrical work for plant utilities.
  • Progressive Maintenance: Serve as a member of the Progressive Maintenance (PM) pillar team, leading PM pillar capabilities for facilities.
  • Wastewater Management: Ensure the reliable operation of the plant's wastewater treatment facility.
  • Project Leadership: Provide leadership and support for facility-related projects, including capital project development and execution.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Support plant sustainability efforts, focusing on landfill diversion, water conservation, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain and oversee technical documentation for facilities.
  • Fire Safety: Conduct maintenance and testing of the plant's fire control systems.
  • Insurance Liaison: Act as the primary contact for the plant's insurance provider.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Oversight: Own responsibilities related to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities systems.
  • Proven experience in leading, developing, or managing teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of environmental management, including air emission reporting and spill containment.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, particularly large chilled water systems and refrigeration.
  • Familiarity with water chemical treatment and reverse osmosis systems.
  • Technical knowledge of various systems, including boilers, compressors, HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire systems.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
