Engineering Reliability Consultant

This role, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, focuses on the implementation and enhancement of local Asset Reliability Practices (ARP). The primary goal of the Reliability Engineer is to boost asset availability by leveraging ARP reliability tools, methodologies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance asset availability through the application of predictive technologies to identify potential failures.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data to inform decision-making.
- Examine operations and failures to reduce costs while improving equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and suppliers to implement improved engineering designs and procedures.
- Maintain the integrity of the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and ensure adherence to standard procedures.
- Contribute to the development of Annual Action Plans and Budgets.
- Provide training to operators and maintenance personnel on ARP practices.
- Ensure critical inspections are conducted and reviewed, with follow-up action plans executed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze asset performance data, collaborating with teams to implement strategies for performance improvement.
- Develop solutions and provide recommendations for significant equipment modifications, installations, and replacements to foster continuous improvement.
- Support planning and scheduling processes to effectively manage downtime and outages.
- Participate in ARP assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of ARP practices and formulate improvement plans.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability teams to ensure the reliability of both existing and new assets.
- Engage in technical studies on equipment and create corrective action plans to maximize availability and reliability.
- Facilitate training sessions and identify skill development needs for plant personnel and contractors to support ARP, maintenance, and safety initiatives.
- Identify critical equipment spares and coordinate with maintenance and procurement to streamline re-order processes and minimize downtime.
- Assist in conducting Failure Analysis on maintenance issues and support the Annual Action Planning process.
Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in Engineering or Material Science is required.
- A minimum of two years of industrial experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in asset reliability technology and systems, particularly in heavy manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts and techniques.
- Familiarity with Predictive Maintenance (PdM) techniques or other ARP tools.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with associates at all organizational levels.
- Problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and a commitment to driving change are essential.
