Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Officer to join our team at Partners of the Americas. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our HR team, providing comprehensive backstopping on talent acquisition and management functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Implement and maintain HR systems that support our U.S.-based and international employees, including employee recruitment, relations, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and compensation.
  • HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems: Manage the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HRIS and applicant tracking systems, providing training and guidance to staff.
  • Employee Relations and Performance Management: Provide HR generalist support with employee relations, performance management, and compensation, ensuring compliance with U.S. state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits administration, including open enrollment, and recommend benefits improvements.
  • Onboarding and Payroll: Onboard new hires and work closely with the F&A unit to ensure payroll and compliance processes are correctly implemented.
  • Employee Advocacy: Serve as an approachable advocate for employees, addressing their issues and concerns, and partner with HR VP and administrative staff to promote employee office safety and health.
  • HR Documentation and Systems: Manage HR documentation, platforms, and systems, keeping critical data safe, organized, and accessible.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in Partner-wide or unit-specific committees and working groups as appropriate, and contribute to strategic HR planning to support organizational goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education and Experience: BA/BS and 1-3 years' experience in HR generalist roles, with expertise in HRIS systems implementation and administration.
  • Language and Communication: Demonstrated bilingual fluency in English and Spanish or French, with outstanding cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive HR issues, with mature, professional judgment and decision-making.
  • International Development Experience: Experience in the international development arena and/or with a diverse, geographically dispersed, global employee population.
  • Employment Regulations: Working knowledge of employment regulations/laws, with the ability to engage internationally with local experts to understand, interpret, and apply international policies and benefits.
  • HR Solutions and Process Improvement: Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement, with strong project management skills and ability to lead projects, collaborate, and drive for results.
