Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for the PeopleSoft technical environment, which includes applying updates and fixes, managing PeopleTools upgrades, and refreshing environments.
- Act as a consultant and facilitator for functional teams, developers, and business units regarding PeopleSoft environment requests in alignment with the Business and Support Services Division's mission.
- Ensure environments are accessible, current, and functioning optimally, working closely with the infrastructure team.
- Offer technical guidance to resolve complex issues, ensuring timely delivery of solutions that meet user expectations.
- Develop innovative approaches to address intricate challenges and coordinate Operating System and Database upgrades and patching.
- Troubleshoot daily operational issues and manage PeopleSoft Application Server, Web Server, and Process Scheduler administration.
- Assist with application performance tuning and utilize PeopleSoft upgrade tools effectively.
Expertise and Analysis
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing direct advice to senior management.
- Organize and manage internal processes to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Regularly analyze programs and initiate corrective actions to enhance effectiveness.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies and methods for application support.
- Oversee ongoing administration, support, performance tuning, and upgrades of the PeopleSoft application environment.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with various functional business units to develop solutions that enhance decision-making processes.
- Lead projects, create and maintain project plans, and prioritize issues effectively.
- Conduct briefings and prepare detailed status reports on project accomplishments and challenges.
- Maintain professional relationships with external organizations and stay updated on technological advancements in the field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with three years of progressive experience as a PeopleSoft System Administrator, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In-depth knowledge of PeopleTools, databases, operating systems, and middleware.
- Experience with PeopleSoft technologies, including Integration Broker, Application Designer, and PeopleSoft Security.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft upgrade processes in an Oracle environment and experience with UNIX, Oracle DBMS, and Windows Server Administration is preferred.
Additional Information
- As a privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems, completion of Information Assurance awareness training is required within six months of employment.
- This position may allow for incremental telework based on policy.
