Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Specialist

KBR is in search of a seasoned Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Specialist with extensive expertise in UNIX systems to contribute to our forward-thinking organization. The successful candidate will possess 8-15 years of experience in LVC settings, showcasing proficiency in the development and management of intricate simulations and virtual environments. A strong foundation in the integration and administration of diverse synthetic environments and simulations is essential, ensuring effective interoperability among live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain DOD constructive simulations, including OneSAF, JSAF, JSPA, JCATS, or other pertinent systems, guaranteeing seamless integration and compatibility with existing frameworks. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, comprising data analysts, developers, and simulation specialists, to ensure the successful execution of constructive simulations and associated initiatives. Provide installation, configuration, and administrative support for Linux RedHat systems, ensuring peak performance and security.
  • Design, develop, and uphold Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) systems and simulations to fulfill training and operational goals. Integrate and configure LVC systems with various simulation and training platforms, ensuring smooth interoperability. Manage and enhance UNIX-based systems and servers that support LVC environments, including performance optimization, troubleshooting, and system administration. Work alongside cross-functional teams to define LVC requirements, create technical specifications, and ensure successful solution implementation. Develop and execute testing protocols to validate LVC systems, ensuring they meet performance and reliability benchmarks.
  • Monitor system performance and implement enhancements or modifications to boost efficiency and capability. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LVC systems, addressing issues promptly to minimize operational interruptions. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for LVC systems, including system configurations, procedures, and user manuals. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in LVC and UNIX systems management.

Essential Qualifications:

Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.

Experience: 8-15 years of experience in Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) systems development and support, with a strong emphasis on UNIX systems administration.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating systems, including system configuration, scripting (e.g., shell scripting), and performance optimization.
  • Experience with LVC simulation and training platforms, including integration and interoperability with other systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, with the capacity to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and technologies relevant to LVC environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of additional operating systems and platforms, such as Windows or real-time operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of simulation frameworks and standards, such as HLA (High-Level Architecture) or DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation).
  • Experience in a defense or aerospace context with a focus on simulation and training systems.
